Pac-Man Ghost Zone
Welcome to my Pac-Man Ghost Zone Archive Page
A little background on this game project that I was the Producer and Lead Game Designer on for NAMCO USA.
When I got to NAMCO they were looking to start developing original game titles out of their US facility in the bay area and it was made clear that Pac-Man was really high on their list of priorities for a reboot, so the first game concept I proposed was Pac-Man Ghost Zone, which was going to be a bit of a spoof concept of TRON, but using Pac-Man.
The basic idea was that a kid gets pulled into a Pac-Man game, changed into Pac-Man and had to face off against an evil that was building up his forces inside the game.
Unfortunately, the game and its team got caught up in a studio management struggle that ended with the game being canceled and me being laid off when the incoming Director of Development made the outlandish claim that I had produced no design for the game. You can judge for yourself…
